an april week
i have determined that i like very much living in europe. the one thing i do not like is that friends and family aren’t here. also in no particular order i miss: fresh seafood, abundance of health foods and fresh veg, good karaoke, and the beach. and a few smaller things… but really, those are the only downsides! so friends: feel free to come visit!
won’t you come inside? house tour can be found here.
looking down the stairs from the door to our flat. we live on the first floor and there is currently no one living in the flat next door due to renovations. no noise! this building is truly beautiful. note the flower boxes and stained-glass windows.
and other randoms from this week,
a decaf pick-me-up yesterday between lessons. yes, now i only drink my coffee from the finest china and with accompanying fine chocolates. how sophisticated i am.
last night it finally happened: we went to media karaoke bar in town and stuck it out long enough for me to sing a song. but it was THE weirdest karaoke experience. i wish i liked it, but i’m not sure i did. thinking about it sort of just gives me a headache. whether i’ll be back or not i suppose time will tell.
to end with a positive note, spring is great here! the outdoor cafes are out in full force in the main town square and you can relax in the sun with such beautiful views of the architecture and samson fountain. i will buy a guitar soon! i will get a bike soon! everyone here is very concerned about the boston situation and want to express their feelings about it to me. and my thursday intermediate level class at the university was taken over by my students telling me blonde jokes. don’t they get it that their teacher is blonde?
